職務内容 | ◆LOB/ Global Function This role sits in the Japan Communications team within Global Communications in Corporate Affairs. Global Communications functions as a business partner to drive the global communications strategy for the company and ensure message consistency across all internal and external audiences. Global Communications is also responsible for developing the communication strategy and executing communication tactics for the Americas, Asia, EMEA, Global Employee Benefits and as well as the Corporate Functions. As part of this responsibility, the organization partners with Executive Group members to develop strategic communications. Within Global Communications, the Asia regional team plays a strategic role for the Enterprise in driving the communications agenda across the region to support the delivery of business objectives. As the largest business within the Asia region, the Japan Communications agenda impacts over 9,270 full-time employees includes approximately 4,500 consultant employees in the field, and over 10,000 agents and distributors, who are collectively responsible for delivering approximately 20% of global operating earnings in 2015. The Director, Health and Digital, External Communications, Japan is an experienced communications professional who serves as a partner to and provides strategic counsel, strategy and support on external communications and profile building opportunities to the heads of Global Brand and Marketing and Products in Japan. The role also acts as a business partner and strategic counsel on reputation risk management and issues and crisis management planning. This individual serves as the key owner for relevant trade and general media relationships, including traditional, broadcast, and online media as relevant, and the delivery of media metrics in Japan, as well as providing advice and communications support on all internal employee engagement communications for associates in these two departments. ◆THE ROLE: This is a revised role following the new organizational structure for the Japan Communications function, which now reflects a different, business partner-specific remit with expanded scope and responsibilities required of the role-holder. The Director will report to the AVP, External Communications, Japan. Key responsibilities of this role include: developing and delivering a coordinated and cohesive communications strategy for media access, coverage, and management, including showcasing expertise and opinion leadership, in the areas of Health and Digital, as appropriate identifying and building influential relationships with the relevant key editors and journalists of the key print, trade, online, and broadcast media proven track record in building strong external reputation and positioning that delivers positive business impact identifying influential and important local speaking platforms where leadership should be visible; developing and delivering a coordinated strategy, execution plan, and content support to place these leaders on these platforms creating, tailoring and placing content on local external platforms including traditional and online media to build the profile working closely with the colleagues in Employee Engagement to promote country achievements at a regional and global level, as applicable, and to create and deliver internal communications for associates in the Health and Digital businesses delivering target metrics for external profile delivering external events anticipating and escalating reputation risk issues arising from these areas of responsibility. This individual must be able to analyze country and business strategy, develop communication plans and execute them through influence and guidance of both internal and external parties. They must be able to anticipate and create effective solutions for potential trends and issues. In addition to directly supporting the country leads Health and Digital, this Director engages Communications colleagues in an active and collaborative communication planning and implementation process to drive our public reputation in Japan. This individual must understand and manage the complexities of building and expanding relationships across a wide range of stakeholder groups including MetLife senior business leaders, media and other influencers, as well as potential talent through our employer brand. The Director is sensitive to the impact of local media on wider regional and global media environments and is able to provide impactful advice to assure our reputation in Japan, and to interact with individuals outside Communications who provide communication support to leaders. |

◆Business Knowledge/Technical Skills: At least 10 years of experience in communications/public relations. Agency experience is a plus. Experience working with senior executives and providing communication counsel and strategy Ability to build strong relationships with media Track record of success in developing and executing integrated communications approaches Ability to work effectively in situations that involve highly confidential information Experienced in traditional communications channels, new media channels and social media, with demonstrated results in using them externally to engage stakeholders ◆Leadership Competencies: Thinks Strategically - Sets direction aligned to the company’s strategy, applying external and global perspective to meet local and global needs.
