◆The position sits in the Value Management Group under Chief Product & Value Management Officer LOB and leads company efforts to realize sustained and controllable value growth.
◆EV Strategy Management Team was newly established in Mar 2017 to proactively identify and manage initiatives to grow Embedded Value through influential cross-functional coordination. This organization is linked to the optimize value and risk cornerstone of our strategy and is critically linked to the Financial, Behavioral, and Contractual workstreams of the Protect Program. This responsibility is unique requiring insurance product or actuarial knowledge, understanding of inforce value drivers and related analysis, and ability to meaningfully engage with the business to drive change.
◆The head of EV Strategy Management team has one team member reporting into this position, but the impact of this position is high as it is critical to the team’s ability to manage growth of our inforce value ($9B as of 2017).

【Role】
Head of EV Strategy Management Team.
◆Proactive Embedded Value(EV) management is critical for company’s sustainable value growth. EV Strategy Management Team was newly established to manage EV for this purpose and plan to develop strategy to optimize value and risk including leading the value initiatives in many area of the company.
◆The role of the new position requires strong project management skills and financial acumen as well as broad life insurance business experience to work with teams across the company on expense efficiency, investment optimization, persistency improvement etc. Being able to work closely with Financial and Product actuarial teams to understand value drivers is also an important skill for this individual.

【Key Responsibilities】
・Understand and analyze drivers of Embedded Value performance (Both Value of Inforce and Value of New Business)
・Identify levers of value growth and prioritize initiatives
・Develop strategy to optimize value and risk from EV viewpoint
・Establish new operating EV management processes
・Engage closely with functional owners across the company and lead efforts to design and prioritize EV growth levers for execution

【CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS】
◆Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:
・Accomplished project lead, able to manage wide range of value growth initiatives in the company.
・5-15 years of experience within Planning, Finance, Profit or Value management area in life insurance company.
・Actuarial background preferred.
・Have knowledge of broad area of life insurance business, covering finance, product, actuarial, investment, expenses, operations etc.
・Strong communication skills and financial acumen to manage value initiatives in quantitative manner.
・Both English and Japanese language skills for communication and reading/understanding of related materials.
